Family Photos Again

I guess I'm on a kick with the family photos.  These are fun posts to do and quick since I don't have a lot of time to put into them these days.  This one is c. 1976 (I know because my sister Sarah is a newborn) and features me and my two sisters and brother.  I am wearing my snuggie jammies which I always hated- they were so sweaty and sticky and I could not stand how they felt on my feet when that vinyl started to crack and stick to my skin.  Thankfully, it seems I was getting a little too tall for this pair and my mom cut an escape hatch for the feet. I think its funny how all the girls are fully clothed in winter looking jammies and Ted (he was Teddy back then, but don't call him that now) is barely dressed in a onesie.  Probably Mom couldn't get him to hold still long enough to get fully ready for bed.  Little bitty Anne Marie looks like she fits well in those jammies, right?  Well I remember that she continued to fit in them for the next three or four years!  She was such a tiny little girlie for a long time!

I believe this was taken at the house my parents built in Billings, Montana.  We moved from there to Salt Lake on my 7th birthday.

More Fun Family Photos

I guess I am in a mood to review some of these photos this week.  This one is c. 1975.  The two handsome young men are my uncles Dave and John.  My grandma Peggy is the pretty lady in the middle.  To the left of her are my parents. On her right are my aunt and uncle Hugh/Doug (he changed his name from Hugh to Doug as an adult and we have never really adjusted to it) andhis beautiful wife Alice.  I'm fairly sure my Dad set these photos up because he usually did.   I loved that outfit so much.  It was probably my favorite outfit of my entire childhood. The three children are me and two of my three siblings, Anne Marie and Ted.

Fun Family Photos

In the interest of fairness, since I posted a picture of Marty's family, I thought I better put up one of mine.  I think I was about 9 in this photo.  My mom had such a pretty smile.  My Dad was looking handsome in his fancy real-estate agent suit. You can see that even then my Dad and I had the same face. My just younger sister, Anne Marie, had a real Gunne Sax dress on. I was so jealous, but she could fit into my three older girl cousins' hand-me-downs at the exact moment the youngest, Julia, outgrew them so I was not the beneficiary of that pipeline.  Anne Marie's son Sam has the same face she does. My poor brother, Ted, had his hair curled with a curling iron for photos from about age 4 through about the time this photo was taken.  This may have been the last time he stood for it! Baby Sister, Sarah, was employing her vast skills of displaying extreme cuteness, a trick she still uses to her advantage on occasion.

Fun family photos

Here is a lovely one of Marty's family.  Marty looks to be about the same age as Caroline here, maybe 8 or 9.  Handsome, isn't he? His dad Bill had some pretty spectacular eyebrows.
